It's Nice to Meet You!
Though my love for nutrition began early in life, it wasn’t until college that I aspired to be a dietitian. I studied everything from chemistry to food science to counseling while completing my Bachelor's of Science in Dietetics at Missouri State University.
I completed my dietetic internship at Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina, where the emphasis was childhood nutrition. It is here that I became certified in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management, which has allowed me the opportunity to expand my dietetic practice beyond the requirements of certification when working with families. In particular, this gives me the essential ability to connect a child’s needs and behaviors to a plan and program that will benefit them to the highest degree.
After becoming board certified and licensed in Kansas and Missouri, I worked as an outpatient dietitian for The University of Kansas Health System where I counseled patients ages 6 months to 96 years on a variety of nutritional needs. Specifically, I spent many hours educating patients on diabetes management, heart health, food allergies, a variety of gastrointestinal diseases, intuitive eating, weight management, and family nutrition.
In May of 2019, I graduated with my master's in Dietetics and Nutrition from The University of Kansas Medical Center.
Beyond experience, my ability and dedication to staying up-to-date with current research allows me to be a progressive member of the dietetic profession. I understand the science and metabolism of nutrients, and genuinely enjoy educating children and adults alike.
My passion is that each new generation is given the opportunity to increase and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
"It is my intention to be a part of health advancement and to make a positive, progressive difference in families everywhere."
